NUFC 2019 World Cup

It is here again!

NUFC 2019 World Cup - 7 a side carnival for NUFC U6-U14's.

An in-house 2-3 hour competition for three age groups: U6/7/8, U9/10/11 and U12/13/14.

Please register Players individually.  Players will be seeded based on their age group and level of their current NUFC team. and then drawn into teams.  Last year this method ensured a fair draw and very even teams which was good for all.

Each player will play for 1 of 8 World Cup nations (eg. Brazil, France or Australia etc.). There will be two groups of 4 teams, all teams are guaranteed at least 4 games (3 group stage games and a quarterfinal). All players will play full games - there are no subs.

The winner of Group A plays number 4 from Group B in the quarter final, 2 plays 3, 3 plays 2 and 4th Group A plays winner of group B. All quarterfinals, semifinals, 3rd place playoff and World Cup Final will, in case of a draw, be decided via a penalty shootout (5 penalty kicks from each team).

Awards for World Cup winners, 2nd place and 3rd place. Also individual trophy for Player of the World Cup.

We are hoping for enough players to make it a 7 aside competition- but final participant numbers will determine; could be more players per team, could be less.

The U14-U18 players will ref and coach the teams. There will be two coaches for each team -  this worked really well last year and was a great experience for both coaches and players.

The short and sweet format, friendly World Cup atmosphere and penalty shootouts deciding finals are just some of the things that have made our own World Cup a great little tradition⚽️
Get in and enjoy!

Eagles 2019 Update No.2

Eagles 2019 Update No.2  (Issued Friday, 1st March 2019)

Narangba United Football Club

Hello Eagles!

Hello Eagles!

Registrations currently have NUFC with over 510 players this season and 50 teams which is 66 more players and 11 more teams than NUFC fielded in 2018.  This all makes for an exciting, busy and very challenging season ahead. This is a great outcome for our local community and as a committee we are committed to ensuring every child who wants to play football can have that opportunity. We are still accepting a number of late registrations where we are able to complete teams short of players.

Football Brisbane has updated the Rules of the Competition for 2019 which has effected team placement for over 10% of our players.  The committee have been working with players and parents to meet our obligations to Football Brisbane, and as a result there has been some shuffling of team nominations and team allocations.

This new ruling has in particular impacted players within our U12, U13, U14 and U15 boys and girls teams.  The result as is currently stands is that we will be likely to have two or three teams with 17 players, which whilst not ideal, aligns to our commitment to be a family oriented grassroots community club.  Football Brisbane is working with us and we thank those players, families and teams who are effected for your patience, support and continued understanding.  Football Brisbane and the Committee are acutely aware of the imposing deadline for season commencement and will be doing everything we can to ensure we are able to have every player on a team.

For those interested in more information, click here: Rules of the Competition 2019

Biggest question around the club at the moment is when will we get our draw?  Football Brisbane will release the draw over the next few weeks.  Like us, many clubs are shuffling teams and this is no doubt a really tricky time for Football Brisbane.  Draws will be available via the link here on the Football Brisbane website – Fixtures and Schedules

Important date claimer:    Season starts 15th March 2019

Thank you to all of the coaches who attended our Coaches Meeting on Tuesday night.  It was great to have so many people in attendance and we are looking forward to a great season ahead.  We are holding a Football FUNdementals Coaching Clinic on April 1st with Martin Docherty, Regional Director of Coaching for Football Brisbane.  This free session will be at the NUFC Clubhouse from 6pm and encourage all coaches to attend. Please see the Coach and Managers Forum for more details and to RSVP.   We are collating the training times and will have a field schedule very soon.

URGENT HELP NEEDED:  We are still looking for two coaches – one for an U7’s Team and another for an U11’s Team.  If you have any interest please let us know.

All managers should have received their team lists via email.  Please check your junk mail if this has not landed in your inbox.  If we have missed you please email secretary@nufceagles.com and we will get that to you asap.  We invite all managers to attend a Managers Meeting at 6pm on Monday March 11th for a brief meeting and to collect Team Kits for the season.

All competitive games need referees which are split into two categories based on the age of the players: Mini Roos (Under 6 to Under 11) and Junior / Senior (Under 12 and upwards).

We are looking for NUFC players and parents to become referees for both categories and encourage you to register your interest with our Referee Coordinator – referees@nufceagles.com.

We are looking to engage a canteen convenor for the season, initially for approximately 12 hours per week across the weekend.  If you or someone you know is interested, please email secretary@nufceagles.com for the job description.

Eagles 2019 Update No.1

Eagles 2019 Update No.1  (Issued Thursday, 14th February 2019)

Narangba United Football Club

Hello Eagles!

WOW, what a start to season 2019 we have had.
For our new families for 2019 welcome to Narangba United Football Club and to our returning families and players, welcome back!  Thank you to everyone for your time and patience as the new committee have registered over 500 players and approximately 50 NUFC teams for the 2019 season.

Thank you to all of the families who attended our team muster and to the fabulous volunteers who coordinated the muster, ran the BBQ and generally helped out.  Now that the team lists are coming together and we are in the process of submitting details to Football Brisbane we thought this would be a good time to give everyone an update on where things are up to and what is coming next.  There are a few age groups where we either have too many or not enough players so we are looking for opportunities to sign up some more players in addition to blending some age groups together to form teams.  Thank you in advance for your continued patience as we work through the logistics of ensuring we can get ever player in a team and on the pitch playing football.  We are getting registration requests every day which we are attending to as soon as we are able. If you have any friends who haven't signed please encourage them to email secretary@nufceagles.com ASAP.

Important date claimer:    Season starts 15th March 2019

Coaches, Managers and training times

For teams that have parents and caregivers who have volunteered to coach and manage a team, your team details will be sent to your coach and manager this weekend and they will be in touch with you to confirm your training schedule.  For some teams training has already commenced.

For teams who have not had anyone step up to volunteer we are doing our best to try to find someone to look after your teams however we are really hoping you will consider stepping up and helping out.  We have coaching manuals, forums, network meetings and many other support mechanisms in place to help make this as easy for you as possible so please seriously consider stepping up – even sharing the role with another Mum or Dad would be a great idea that we welcome.  As a grassroots community football club we are looking to parents and caregivers to fulfil these roles and training will not be able to start until we have coaches allocated the team.

Coaches and managers or those interested in assisting are encouraged to look at our website www.narangbaunitedfootballclub.com for links to resources, manuals, support and interactive forums.  If you have any questions please ask.

Kits and Uniforms

Our jersey order has arrived and we are busy putting our team kits together.  Teams kits will be distributed by the team coach and manager early in March.  There are a few teams that are participating in grading matches and kits are being arranged for them.  The uniform shop is opened between 6:15pm and 7pm Monday through Thursday.  Orders can be placed on the website and we will email you to advise when they are ready for collection.  Orders that have been placed up until today have been ordered and will be available in the around 3 weeks and you will be advised when they are in.

Coaches Meeting

We have a coaches meeting scheduled for February 26th at 6:30pm at the Club House.  We would encourage all coaches to attend so we can outline the season ahead.

Club Meeting

Our next club committee meeting will be on February 26th at 7:30pm and we encourage everyone to come along to discuss our club and be a part of our development and planning for 2019.  We are hoping to get some parents to help with running events and activities including club days, carnivals and social events along with the canteen, BBQ and bar.

Girls Teams

We are still hoping to fill several spots in our Girls teams for U11, U13 and U15.  If you have any friends who may wish to give football a try this season, then we encourage you to get them to sign up with NUFC.  Our girls and women have had great success over the past few years and we hope we can continue to develop and strengthen this area of the club.

Goalie Training

Dedicated goalie training will be available to U11-U16 goalies each Tuesday and Thursday nights from 6:00pm – 6:45pm with Coach Andrew.  Senior goalie coaching will be from 7:00pm also on Tuesday and Thursday each week.

New balls and bibs

New balls and bibs have been ordered and will be available for managers to collect for their teams.

Game schedules

Game schedules will be available on the Football Brisbane website.  Early in the season these change frequently, so please look to your team manager for the most up to date information.

Referee Clinic

NUFC will be hosting a Level 4 referee clinic on March 10th for anyone over 13 years of age who is interested in becoming qualified to referee matches.  The cost of the clinic is $50 or you can sell two boxes of Cadbury chocolates and your coaching clinic will be free.  Referees will be called upon to referee games across the season with qualified referees paid according to Football Brisbane fee schedules.  Players interested in getting involved with refereeing this season are encouraged to send an expression of interest to referees@nufceagles.com and we also welcome players wishing to referee to join our referee forum via the website.
